How to clean:

• Wipe the exterior with a clean, slightly damp cloth.
• An alcohol wipe can often be used on the outer surface, but follow the pen manufacturer’s instructions.
• Keep the cartridge/needle connection area clean and dry.
• Never reuse needles and remove the needle after each use.
• Don’t immerse the pen in water, run it under a tap, or put disinfectant inside the mechanism.

If medication or liquid gets inside the pen, or the mechanism becomes contaminated, it’s safer to follow the specific manufacturer’s cleaning/replacement instructions rather than trying to sterilise it yourself.
